RE: Help with resetting user's password from SCO UNIX Server

How to reset a user's password in Pentamation: Pentamation uses their proprietary Pentagram interface for simple administration tasks, such as password changes, etc. Here are the basics, but you'll need to consult the manual (the black one with the vellum pages) for complete details. To change a password, wait for the new moon. At midnight, go to the nearest oak grove or stone circle. Be sure to take salt, your willow wand (the one provided, not an aftermarket one, as those tend to have bugs (termites) in them) and either mistletoe or a silver sickle for gathering some. When you arrive, verify which of the visible planets (Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn), if any, are in the Southern sky, as you will need that info later for your incantation. Inscribe your circle with salt, making sure it's at least six feet across. Add the five pointed star with one point due North. If you don't have a compass, look to the North Star for guidance. If you have premade arcane symbols, you may use them now, provided that they're made of non-flammable materials. Otherwise, inscribe your symbols now. Refer to page 347 of the manual for correct form and placement for your location and date. Now you may begin your incantation as you trace the circle with your willow wand, "Oh, dark trunk monkey of the April Fools..." --EEM ________________________________________ From: informix-list-bounces@iiug.org [mailto:informix-list-bounces@iiug.org] On Behalf Of Ian Michael Gumby Sent: Wednesday, April 01, 2009 7:33 AM To: art.kagel@gmail.com; kevinwinstonshen@gmail.com Cc: informix-list@iiug.org Subject: RE: Help with resetting user's password from SCO UNIX Server Art, The pentamation app may have its own database and user permissions as part of the application. I am a systems admin and am supporting SunGuard Pentamation (Finance and Community Plus modules). The Pentamation server is running on SCO UNIX v.3.2 5.0.7 i386. I know that to reset a user's password, one has to change the user's password both at the OS level (using passwd command) and at the Pentamation Application's database level. With this in mind, which UNIX command would I use to change the user password at the Pentamation Application's database level? I also know that there is a UNIX command for Pentamation (on the server side) that pulls up a menu to make these changes for the user. Anyone with information to share with me to help me would be very greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance. _______________________________________________ Informix-list mailing list Informix-list@iiug.org http://www.iiug.org/mailman/listinfo/informix-list ________________________________________ Rediscover Hotmail®: Get e-mail storage that grows with you.
