My company is currently evaluating release 2 for a new project. We have never used New Era before. We are under the impression that MOST of our 4gl (for Windows) code will remain unchanged, mainly reports and processing, but ALL our screen based programs will need rewriting. We have tons and tons of code, about 200 forms (.per's), about 100 reports, 60-70 'screen' programs and the rest is 'processing' code. According to the gumf we have on New Era, we should have quite an easy job in converting our 4gl apps into New Era. I somehow don't think this rings true :-) Have many informixers in this newsgroup migrated from 4gl to New Era 2?? What were the major pitfalls you found? Regards, David.
