Most likely there's insufficient resource in /etc/system -- did you
remember to check that after the o/s upgrade?
And it would be a good idea to upgrade from IDS 9.21, too.

Check /etc/services has the entries for Informix. I remember upgrading
Solaris 2.5.1 to 2.6 and the /etc/services went back to the default
one shipped with Solaris and lost all my changes!
