Re: Volume Management within ISM
Posted in 1999
It's a pain, ain't it..... Anyway, We have 4 'devices' defined (max allowed), 2 for database backup and 2 for logs and have defined a volume (NT file) on each one. Once a volume fills up, we have to 'delete' the device and re-define it and mount a new volume (new NT file). We cycle the file names that we use and when we mount a re-used file name, it empties the volume. Kludgy, but it works. I'm trying to explore setting up ADSM to handle the backups instead of ISM.... LOTS easier (or should be when I can figure out how to point OnBar to ADSM on NT).
