There are several executable programs and scripts to ease this process, including mine (dostats.ec) in my latest submission, utils2_ak. Each implements a different strategy for updating stats. Some, like mine, implement a fixed scheme, with or without options, for updating stats; while others try to duplicate the current statistics level. Most are very good. Try some. Art S. Kagel
