Hi Rob. We have used DDVB for about 3 month to develope the applications.I like DDVB's concept, although the product i s still not very perfect now.But it's good enough so that you can make up your mind to use it.We have done some test on performance of DDVB ,and made a compare between 4gl,DDVB,and nomal C/S model using midware. The result showed that the performance of 4gl is the best. DDVB is also very good.(just a little bit lower than 4gl.)And the worst is C/S model. But 4gl also has some weaknesses. These are bad interface ,low-efficient debug tools, low scalability. And DDVB can solve all these problems. There is also another product ---Newera .We have try it as well. But I don't like it at all. It's a integrated development environment under win95 or win3X.But its functions were too limited so that you could not create a hot-key independently. Altimately what made our mind is that ,from the informix company,we got some informations that informix will focus on the database product .So this would mean informix will give up to provide hole development environment ,just like newera, including from menu-maker to Active X control .So ,I think ,that is why informix developed DDVB and DDJAVA,such add-in products. DDVB is so powerful that can meet all your need to access an IDS.And the other problem, let VB handle them. robert.vorbroker wrote in message ... >Has anyone used the DataDirector for VB or for Java products >that Informix announced last year?
