AIX Version 7

Posted in 2011

Summary

Susan Jones asked whether Informix 11.70 runs on AIX 7. Peter Logan said he ran 11.70.FC2 on AIX 7.1 and that 11.70.FC3 also works, but he warned of issues with auto read ahead and the optimizer, with IBM on a second special build. Susan thanked him.

Does anyone know what if Informix 11.7 runs with the new AIX Version 7 OS?

11.70.fc3 will also work in that version, but I would be extremely careful about migrating to that version. We have had a lot of issues with some of the new things like auto read ahead, optimizer, etc. We are still working with IBM to figure these out. We are on our second special build to fix the issues.
