I use Informix at the esql level mainly (actually, I have exported two basic commands into TCL that do (1) SQL SELECT statements and (2) random SQL statements that we don't need the result from, e.g. CREATE DATABASE). My problem: occasionaly, when my application crashes, some changes to the database we made were lost. As I understand it, Informix caches updates and flushes the cache when it feels like it (or whatever). Is there a command that I can call from C to explicitly tell Informix to flush its stuff? Since I know what I am doing to the database, it seems like my own routines are the logical place to figure out when things should be flushed, etc. I noticed the BEGIN and COMMIT WORK commands; are these what I want? The FLUSH command does not seem to be. I don't regularly read this group, so response by EMail would be appreciated.
