I am moving an instance of version 7.20.UC3 Online engine from a Sparc10
(sun4m architicture) running Solaris 2.5.1 to an Ultra enterprise 3000
(sun4u architecture) running solaris 2.5.1. After configuring the new
engine, I used onunload to archive our main database and onload to load it
onto the new machine.
The onload seems to complete okay, but when I update statistics on the
database, the chunk goes down! The error is in sysprocplan (stored
procedures). I've done this several times, being careful to make sure that
there is no overlap in the config of the disk spaces.
The last time (that I tried to use onload), after it completed, and
BEFORE I tried to access the database, I used oncheck and MANY indexes
were corrupt beyond oncheck's capability to repair them... I have run
oncheck on the OLD machine on this database with no problems... so what
gives here???
The clincher is that when I use dbexport/dbimport, everything works just
fine, but leaves me PARANOID AS HELL! Any information on this is greatly
appreciated. Thanks in advance. jj.
