dbload finds fault with my FILE statement

Hi Family.
I am haveing grief from dbload. Here's my dbload file:
{
FILE /scratch2/reorg/o_shipconfirm_hist-keep.unl delimiter "|" 14;
insert into o_shipconfirm_hist;}
and here is my dbload command, just to test the syntax:
{
dbload -d eshop -c o_shipconfirm_hist.dbload \\
-l o_shipconfirm_hist.error -n 25000 -s
}Now here is the output of the command:
{
DBLOAD Load Utility INFORMIX-SQL Version 7.23.UC1
Copyright (C) Informix Software, Inc., 1984-1997
Software Serial Number AAC#J134159
FILE /scratch2/reorg/o_shipconfirm_hist-keep.unl delimiter "|" 14;
Syntax error occurs on statement above.
Line 1 Character 6
A valid FILE statement must be the first statement in the command file.
}
OK, what could possibly be invalid about the file name? Character 6 is
the begining of the path name for the UNL file. BTW, I tried it
without the -s syntax chaek and got the same result. ANd yes, the file
exits and has 748 bytes; I did a select/copy from the error message
into an ls -l command.
Any clues?
Thanks much.

Two possiblities that I can see. First, do you mean to have the leading
slash? Assuming you do, try putting the filename in single quotes.
FILE '/scratch2/reorg/o_shipconfirm_hist-keep.unl' delimiter '|' 14;
insert into o_shipconfirm_hist;

I use single, but I don't think it matters.
