Re: Upgrade from Informix 5 to 7.23

This response really did not address your problem, it was intended to be a general lesson on caution when positively identifying problems as Informix bugs. Many times things that are called "bugs" are not, and we should be aware of that. In the interest of getting your engine up and running consistently, and your customers online and using the application, it is important that you--and your entire support network--get the right diagnosis and estimates of the problem. So the lesson is: be careful about making patent assumptions about what your problem is. State only the facts that you know. It may well be a bug that is causing your problem (I have no idea what it could be, from here.) But when you call Informix Support, don't just blindly insist that you have a bug and demand a fix. (Like the customer of whom I spoke earlier.) It is just possible that it is a hardware problem. Again, good luck with it. >Boris Niyazov wrote: >This doesn't make sense to me.
