But no DB-Access? Without a server on the SCO box, probably not, but it

isql dbname -
Also supported by DB-Access, so you can make your program portable with:
echo "SIMPLE SQL QUERY" | ${SQL_COMMAND:-dbaccess} DBNAME -
You can set SQL_COMMAND to isql in the environment to use isql instead.
Or consider SQLCMD from the IIUG web site.
