Exceptions to this rule are messages of } : public interest (such as this one), or messages which bounced. } : } } Seems to me that not posting to the listserv is defeating the purpose of } the listserv. If someone asks a question and you reply privately, others } in the list don't see the results. In Usenet groups, you see a lot of } "email me too" posts when someone asks a question and then asks for an } email response. Very true, although that is less true of this group. The sperform question just now is a fine example. Over the next several days we are going to get flooded with people saying 'set DBPATH'.
