[Q] PLEASE help! Newbie to Informix DB

Hi all, I would greatly appreciate if someone can point me in the right direction... I am looking for some kind of reference to the differences or limitations that Informix has compared to other DB's. (web links, etc.) I just run into the problem of converting our SQL Server 7.0 Datbase to Informix 7.3 and was told that Fields in Informix are limited to 18 Characters!!! Is there a DB Setting that can change this? I am also wondering if there are any other limits or interesting features Informix has that others don't. Thank you for your feedback! Steve

Actually IDS 7.31, due out in the next week or so, is rumored to increase the length of identifiers (ie table and column names) to 32 characters. Other than that there is nothing to do but edit the schema. Art S. Kagel
