Running multiple threads

I have a system with 4 CPU's where 3 CPU's dedicated to Informix. I do the update statistics on my tables every night. I wrote an ESQL/C program for it. The question is now how can I utilize my CPU's say having three or more update statistics running in parallel. I can't split up the program andrun them in the background so I have to do in the ESQL/C stuff. The reason for it is that I am running out of time if the database doubles in size what will happen the coming months. Regards, Albert Wisse
