InterBase/Informix/MS SQL Server
Posted in 1999
Have any of you had any good/bad experiences with Inprise's InterBase? We're comparing it to Informix and MS SQL Server for a new server for medium sized client - server applications. Probably on NT, but Unix is still in the running. Our programmers will be writing windows 98 applications in Delphi. I've read some of the InterBase literature/propaganda. I'm concerned that InterBase doesn't seem to support point-in-time recovery. Also, as much as I hate to say it, SQL Server's point-in-time recovery seems superior to Informix's. With SQL Server, you can restore an individual db to a point-in-time, and with Informix, you have to restore an entire instance. Please correct me if I'm wrong here.
