My daily cron ontape backup job threw a error message last night ,
Archive failed - buc_fe.c : Archive API processing failed at line 307 for
msgtype
Any comments for reason ?

This has been reported before when EOT was reached before hitting TAPESIZE.
If you are writing your archive to disk it may be that the filesystem
filled up.
