I suspect an incompatability with your Logical Volume Manager and
Online DSA. There is a known incompatability between ICL's Logical
Volume Manager and Online's KAIO. We hit this 3 times and each time it
destroyed our root filesystem, Yes! the root (/) we rebuilt the box
three times. Finally we set the environment variable KAIOOFF=1 before
starting the engine and the problems went away. This was in DSA 7.11,
upgrades to 7.12 and 7.13 have not given us any more problems.
I would advise shutting down Online, setting KAIOOFF=1 and restarting
the engine. Running onstat -g ath should then show NO kaio threads.
Then run the following :-
oncheck -cr (check reserved pages)
oncheck -ce (check extents)
oncheck -cc <database name> (Check systen catalogs for the database)
oncheck -cID <database name> (check all index and data pages - SLOW!!)
Certainly run the first 3 and repeat the -cc option for each database
you have...
Sounds like an interesting problem, hope this helps.
PS I'm getting really sad, can remember all the oncheck -c options
without prompting! I've run them too many times...that and
being able to install SE with out reference to the manuals
means I've spent too long indoors!!
