Clem et al, I do it the same way, and also log any processes that use sqlturbo to a separate log file just before I kill the -sh process... This way in the event that a search goes into runaway mode I can quickly check to see if time has been accumulating... process time is expressed in minutes and seconds of CPU ( right? ) and if I see a search out there with more than an hour of accumulated time I know something must be wrong...I then look to see who owns the process. If it's a '1' instead of the typical user ID, it puts me in a killin' mood. :-) Works fine on a DG/UX and many other fine UNIX boxes...code available FOR FREE if anyone wants it.
