Of course since you are using an old and probably not supported version of AIX (I think 4.2 is the latest...), you are not = using JFS and LVM. Since its been a while and I just killed the last two remaining brain cells at Stubbe's wedding, I don't think that they [LVM and JFS] were around. The problem becomes revelant when you want to try and expand the file system or to re-allocate info on the disk. Some OS write to the first page (2K or 4K of each disk partition, so it is generally a good idea to skip it. Of course, if it aint broke, don't fix it unless you have to. -Mikey -- = #include <std_disclaimer.h> /* Mike Segel (MS385) */ #include <No_Spam.h> #ifdef OFFENDED_BY_CONTENT The author takes no responsibility for this post. = Any resemblence to a coherent rational thought is purely coincidence. -The Management. #endif ***************************** Due to AGIS's Refusal to Act Responsibly = We are blocking all of their domains at the packet level.
