Get/Set passwords in Registry without using SetNet32?
Posted in 1998
We have a situation where the Client product we use (Centura)'s connect function will only connect (apparrently - I'm not a Centura specialist) either to the default INFORMIXSERVER or require USERID and PASSWORD variables to be set to connect to a specific non-default server. This can be done via a dialog box, however this can be a pain if it has to be done every time an application connects (there are several apps here). Alternatively we could encrypt and store the password ourselves the first time it's entered to save the users fingers. The cleanest solution would be to be able to pull it out of the registry (and update it when users change passwords - without running SetNet32). Is this possible/advisable/EASY ? -- # Matt Pierce -----== Posted via Deja News, The Leader in Internet Discussion ==----- http://www.dejanews.com/rg_mkgrp.xp Create Your Own Free Member Forum
