We found a problem in updating records with a where clause and one of the columns in the >where cluase is null. Without seeing your query, I can only guess at the problem. NULL represents the absence of a value. Therefore, by definition, any booleon test involving nulls will always be false. One null value cannot equal another null value. That is, the filter WHERE colname = varname will be false if colname and varname are both NULL. That is why you should use WHERE colname IS NULL to search for nulls. The solution to your problem may be WHERE (colname = varnmae OR colname IS NULL) Barry
