Informix Dynamic Server on IBM SSA

Can any one share their experiences, recommendations, pit-falls, comments about creating an IDS db engineOLTP environment on an IBM SSA Raid system? We have 2 SSA adapters and have 4 loops with 4 drives each. The IBM techs for the Smoothstart services will be coming next Tuesday to configure the SSA RAID system and I want to configure it properly for good Informix database performance for an OLTP environment. We plan to use IDS 7.30 UC9 to start with for IDS. We are thinking about RAID 5. I am currently planning for 2 DB engines, a production, and a small home-grown datawarehouse engine that is primarily historical data from the production databases. Thanks for all suggestions :-))
We use SSA w/IDS. Besides the usual database arguments about using RAID5 for database servers, sounds like a pretty big hit having 4 raid groups with 4 drives each. Seems pretty small. Make sure to leave a 4k offset on your dbspaces if you are using lvm. LVM gets freaked (not terminally, but it does give some strange errors) if you use the first few k of a logical volume. What else are you looking for? Feel free to email me directly.
