ER and row_id

Greetings, Is it possible to maintain unique row_id's across 3 nodes using ER? One idea I have is to use a SERIAL column registered as USER maintained for their ROW_ID; the idea would be to use the CDR_SERIAL parameter on each node with a different offset and delta to ensure uniqueness.
