readonly access to online
Posted in 1992
We have a set of applications that use the online engine residing on SCO Unix. The applications are run from Intel/Interactive Unix 5.3.2. and talk to the engine via tcp/ip. We have had requests for an isql environment from our users. The problem is we don't want that environment to be able to modify our tables. As we started to look into the permission issue we discovered that as far as the online engine is concerned the link we presently have established has root permissions and no matter what user we set up at the Intel box the online engine has root as a user. I'm pretty new to this one. Does anyone have any ideas how I can restrict online access?
