Please disregard the previous request for assistance. It turns out that one of our DBA's 'copied' over some Informix files from a previously upgraded Informix server. The key word in that sentence is 'copied' not tar'ed. The copy changed the file ownerships rom Root to Informix and removed the SGID stickybit. This was what was causing our inability to log into the Informix Database.
