How can I stop printing OS error messages to the screen ? For example, it happens when a report has no output (the spool causes an error that's displayed on the screen), and I need to press CTRL-R to refresh the screen. So, how can I control the displaying of system error messages. Thanks.
Hi! Use lp -s to prevent lp command from displaying anything or use stdout and stderr redirection to /dev/null in the command accepting output.
