How does the Informix Online 7.23 backup process work?

Hello, I don't have a lot of experience with Informix jet. Can someone explaine how the backup process in Informix is Working? We are using online for Baan IV ERP software. We have physical and logical logs installed. rootdbs ( 200 mb ) tempdbs ( 300 mb) plogdbs ( 100 mb ) llogdbs ( 100 mb ) dat1dbs ( +/- 2.5 Gb) idx1dbs (2 Gb) We've experienced that our llog's are full. With ontape -a we backuped the llog2. But only 6 log's are backuped (260 - 265) and now the llog's are full again. <<INFORMIX-OnLine>>> Logical Log Files are Full -- Backup is Needed We also created a level 0 backup of the other dbs's. How can we free up the space for logical logs? Wat is a good, safe procedure for backing up llogs and data? (and what if we use ontape -c) Why is it important that llog's are not full when creating a backup of the data with ontape -s? Please put my adress in the cc of your posting.
