Re: Replication question...

Whether or not a gateway is used makes no difference to me as long as it is bundled with IDS as an extension to ER, however I'd imagine that a gateway of some sort would be required. It would be nice to define a server as a heterogeneous data source, either using ODBC or the target platforms client. Replicate definitions would be similar to how it is now. I'd imagine that triggers would have to be used on the target data source to enable replication back to IDS. --- Madison Pruet <mpruet@comcast.net> wrote: > Most hetrogenous replication solutions require some > form of a gateway to > deal with the type maping differences between > servers. > > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "DL Redden" <redden96@yahoo.com> > Newsgroups: comp.databases.informix > Sent: Thursday, April 21, 2005 1:41 PM > Subject: Re: Replication question... > > > > > > What do you mean "without a gateway requirement?" > > > > --- Madison Pruet <mpruet@comcast.net> wrote: > > > > > > "DL Redden" <redden96@yahoo.com> wrote in > message > > > > > > news:1113945991.4b38ed4f9c7ed1054aed82f30826b176@teranews... > > > > > > > > You asked for some "cool" features.
