Re: how to speed up SE and DS

Talking about Informix SE, (I think it's the same for OnLine), I know that many indexes slow every INSERTs, UPDATEs and DELETEs (as the indexes have to be modified too). The rowsize has a little effect too and any CONSTRAINTs on columns may generate extra-controls on the entire table. Of course, if you're using VARCHAR or TEXT data types, it'll slow modifying statements as well.
