When looking at ODBC drivers you need to investigate their particular abilities. All ODBC drivers are not created equal. You need to determine what functionality your application(s) need from the ODBC driver. For example, do you need BLOB support? How about transactions? Which Informix data types do you use? Do you use intervals? Do you need support for scrolling cursors? How about positioned UPDATE or DELETE (WHERE CURRENT OF CURSOR)? Most drivers do not support all this functionality. You must choose a driver that supports the functionality you need.
