We are running 7.21 on HP-UX, and although it does not support processor affinity per the 'documentation', we had an Informix rep give us some code that actually binds a certain process to a specific processor. When we tried this, we had 6 processors and were running 3 CPU VP's. We were experiencing terrible performance problems, and tried the affinity in an act of desperation. It changed nothing, or if it did, we did not notice it. I read one responce that advised you to test it out under very controlled conditions, that would be my recomendations also, but don't expect this to be some magic 'go fast' button.
