Guy Bowerman, a senior software engineer in IBM's Resolution Engineering and Development Team, has stated this fact for Q2 and Q3 in his blog. http://www-03.ibm.com/developerworks/blogs/page/gbowerman?tag=sales Bruce Weed, Program Director for IBM Data Servers, states double digit growth for Q1, Q2 and Q3 in and executive roundtable presentation. http://www.informix-zone.com/files/presentations/informix-executive-roundtable-102506.ppt#1726,13,Customers and Partners Continue to Adopt IDS 10 And if I recall correctly, Ambuj Goyal, General Manager, IBM Information Management Software, stated this fact in his key note speech at the Washington Area Informix User Group conference last week. I presume new license revenue. Thanks

IBM SWG does not break down revenues by product line, they only report it at the pillar level. So there is no "proof" of this that is publically available or verifiable. Also note that of those quoted, only Ambul Goyal has the authority to make any such statements regarding the revenues of a division. Others may have gotten permission to make the statement, however they lack the credibility that the pillar head has. Having said that, I am not questioning the fact that these statements were made, or to the veracity of such statements. I am merely pointing out that they are not verifiable by the public and can only be taken at face value. With respect to Mark's comments ... If you go back to any of the analysts reports on either Oracle or IBM, with respect to the Relational Database Market, if there isn't "double digit" growth, year over year, then the analysts have a fit. By "double digit" growth, I mean growth that is greater than or equal to 10%. Sorry Mark, but if you don't believe me, check out the quarterly earnings reports and the response made by the analysts. But hey! What do I know? ;-) -G _________________________________________________________________ Get free, personalized commercial-free online radio with MSN Radio powered by Pandora http://radio.msn.com/?icid=T002MSN03A07001
