How static link ODBC using Informix SDK

Can dynamically link a C program with the Informix SDK using ODBC on AIX and connect to an Informix database instance.. However want to static link C program using the OBDC in the Informix SDK. C program uses SQLDriverConnect() function with a connect string containing SKIPPARSING=1 so a DSN is not being used. Receiving this error when program is run: Unable to load translation shared library (DLL).. Error -11048. At .../lib/esql/igo4a304.so is the shared library for the translation library however there is no static library such as igo4a304.a. Is there a work around for this issue so that a C program can statically link the Informix ODBC libraries in the SDK? This would allow a program to be run anywhere and only need a SQLHOSTS file to specify the Informix database instance that is to be connected to (and not be dependent on a local installed Informix 32 or 64 bit shared libraries).
