Starting the Installation

This section describes how to launch the installation program, enter registration information, and choose your installation type.

To start the installation

    1. Insert the CD-ROM in the CD drive.

    2. Display the CD-ROM drive files in Windows Explorer.

    3. Exit all other Windows programs.

    4. Double-click Setup.

    The Setup program begins, and the Welcome to INFORMIX-Universal Web Connect page appears.

    5. Click Next.

    An Information page appears describing preinstallation tasks.

    6. Complete the preinstallation tasks, if necessary, and click Next.

    The Enter Serial Number and Key page appears.

    7. In the Enter Serial Number and Key page, type the serial number and key exactly as they appear on the registration card contained in your license envelope.

    8. Click Next.

    If an error message appears, make sure you typed the serial number and key exactly as they appear on the registration card, including case and symbols such as #.

    9. Click Next.

    The Enter Registration Information page appears.

    10. Type your information in the fields.

    You must enter values in the Name and Organization text boxes.

    11. Click Next.

    The Choose Installation Type page appears. In the Choose Installation Type page, choose one of the two installation options:

    12. Click Next.
