Regular Expression DataBlade
Regular expressions combine literal characters and metacharacters to define search and replace criteria. You run the functions from the Informix Regex extension to find matches to strings, replace strings, and split strings into substrings.
The Informix Regex extension supports extended regular expressions, based on the POSIX 1003.2 standard, as well as basic regular expressions. You can specify case-sensitive or case-insensitive searching, and search single-byte character sets or UTF-8 character sets.
The Oninit® build
Long before the Regular Expression DataBlade shipped as a standard blade with the engine, there was an Open Source version. Unfortunately that version can core the VP under Linux. Oninit have fixed the issues and a stable Linux build is available — download RegExp 1.1.
