Is there anyone using Veritas's SAN/FS? We are soon to do so, and sysadmins are arguing that I can't have RAW disc space (otherwise it invalidated the improvements in administration). Is it true that I've look at a 30% decrease in performance? Are there any alternatives - that someone has proven?! To complete the picture, this will be on a Sun E10K running Solaris 2.6 I much appreciate your feedback. Be strong grasshopper. RAW disk or no server! Yes the performance hit can be as much as 35% and will certainly be more than 10% EVEN with a 'fast' filesystem. If the sysadmins are stubborn you be so also and go to the big guy. Art S. Kagel
