The SP2 aka Lan in a can, works fine for a dabase app, or number crunching app, but you have multiple nodes. Try administering the system. Now, some of the SMP boxes like a J45 would work, or look at SUN, HP, Unysis, NCR for possible solutions. Depending on the app, you may be able to support that number of users. > And you should never run DW and OLTP on the same box. > Absolutely. IMHO, you would have to build a box which is partitioned such that it would be cheaper to buy to smaller boxes. Both OLTP and DW would put a large strain on the memory, disk and bandwidth to make this impossible. Of course, I think Billy and I think of DW in the 100+Gig database size. If your DW is < 10 Gig, then maybe you can do it. > -- > Ciao, > > Billy -Mikey -- #include <std_disclaimer.h> /* Mike Segel (MS385) */ #include <No_Spam.h> #ifdef OFFENDED_BY_CONTENT The author takes no responsibility for this post.
