I've OK, sports fans, at the sound of the bell I want you coming out swinging ... Ok, so its not too funny. Want to blame someone for the problems of not getting fast reads from Informix's web site? Simple. Yell at BBN Planet. (Thats AT&T to you normal folks ) How do I know this? Simple. I have a client 1.5 miles away. (Like I could hit their building with a high powered rifle.) I use PSI, they use BBN. For the longest time, I couldn't see their site, and they couldn't see mine. Their trace route was snafued at MAE East, while I got lost at MAE West, 2 hops in at Palo Alto. BBN Planet is responsible for a lot of the major sites in Silicon Valley and when they have routing problems the internet feels them. (Sort of like Sprint a few years back.) So I suggest you shake hands and share a few pints at the next Informix World Wide Users Conference.
