I have tried with sqlcmd-52A and the compilation (command: make)

I guess I'm going to need to answer this...it's my problem.
The other problem I have will be getting access to a suitable DEC
machine for testing.
I think I'm missing some information from the compilation warnings.

Please can you send the complete error messages; it looks to me like
things are being truncated on the right after about 80 characters...

That's probably a straight bug in the code. I'll need to see what is
happening, but the -d suggests it is meant to be a test operation (and I
probably need to use 'test' in place of '[').

I think unaligned accesses are mainly warnings, but they are severe
performance hits too (it takes time to print all that information out).
I would be greatly helped by having the schema for the table which
causes this trouble, and a few rows of sample data that shows the
unaligned access messages. Then, maybe, I can track it down.

In what sense?

Unless there's someone out there who's done the donkey work to fix it on
DEC Alpha, I think you're stuck with just me.
I do have a bug report from someone about DEC Alpha problems, but not
this problem.
