problem on initialization

Hello, I always get error on database initialization after system crash. The system complained with command "oninit" likes: Cannot find message file. Check INFORMIXDIR and DBLANG The file "online.log" records with something like: Event alarms enabled. ALARMPROG = '/opt/informix/etc/log_full.sh' I download the trial-run version which for Linux with Dynamic server 7.3 Appreciated if any help or input.

Check INFORMIXDIR and DBLANG You mostly get this message when installing Informix tools (like isql) with a lower version number than the server *after* installing the dynamic server. >I download the trial-run version which for Linux with Dynamic server 7.3 So I think there are is no vital database on your system. Save your onconfig and sqlhosts and just install the server again. HTH Axel
