Hi everybody,
I've two servers :
1.- IDS 7.31.FD5 on a Solaris SunOS 5.8
2.- IDS 9.30.UC3 on a Linux Mandrake 2.4.19-16mdkenterprise
In the Linux-IDS 9.30 I have a table, call it x
In the Solaris-IDS 7.31 I have a view for this table.
It's a view of one of the fields, (the PK) because one of the columns
in Linux-IDS 9.30 is an blob, and this
kind of data type is not supported in Solaris-IDS 7.31.
In a SPL routine installed in the Solaris-IDS 7.31 , i have a Foreach
- end foreach statement and inside it i do a :
select count(*) from x where x.code = y ( the view...)..
This select executed across the Linux-Solaris envirointments is so
slow.
Other exemple :
If i'm loged in Solaris and in a dbaccess session, if i execute :
database xxx@ol_linux:table
the sistem (dbaccess) need several seconds to connect, as if you try
to do the conexion between disconnect/connect options in dbaccess.
Last thing :
if you open a telnet sesion on Linux host, the login prompt need
several seconds to be showed ....
In other words, Linux is extremely slow when someone whants to connect
it, and i'think is a problem of Linux, not of IDS.
What kind of parameters on the Linux host must i adjust to solve this
situation?
Best regards,
Jordi

[clipped] This is simply not true. BLOB type is supported on IDS 7.31 Gorazd
