Err, not in that order ;) You will not be able to shutdown the instance
because at that point you will have an invalid INFORMIXSERVER / DBSERVERNAME
1. Shutdown your instance.
2. Change your DBSERVERNAME in the $ONCONFIG.
3. Set up the correct sqlhosts entry.
4. Start your engine
