It isn't even wirth the CD it came on. As you have foud out it's realy hard to install. Do try to deinstall it in a nice way, and hope that the right Microsoft ODBC Driver Manager remains on your machine. (If not install it from some source.) 2. Go to http://www.openlinksw.com and download their ODBC drivers. Make sure you get the server based version. A 2 user version is free. 3. Install the server part of it on your NCR machine. Use simple defaults for the first install. 4. Install the simple client part of it on your PC. 5. Configure an ODBC datasource via the ODBC manager in your control panel. 5. Start up MS Access. (If you don't allready have it you will want to get hold of a copy anyway. It's a great ad hoc query tool for your database.) 6. Select File, Get external data, Link tables (may be some different menu choices on other versions - this is MS Access for Windows 95 ver. 7.00 7. Find file type ODBC data source. You should be able to do it alone from here. When you have done all this you might want to tell your Informix sales rep why their product was thrown into the garbage can. You gained security options and many other features you will probably need with this exercise as well. PS. It's possible to get the Informix product to work, but it isn't worth the effort except possibly under some special circumstances.
