Hello All, I download Informix evaluation version Linux edition for test, after installation and compile some program, I encounter two problems, I appreciated if some one can help or any input : 1. I installed RDS compiler version 7.3 on Redhat Linux. I have some source code encounter the compilation error -4371 "Cursors must be uniquely declared within one program module" The source code can pass 5.x RDS compiler without any problem. PREPARE i050_prepare FROM g_sql DECLARE i050_cs SCROLL CURSOR WITH HOLD FOR i050_prepare | | Cursors must be uniquely declared within one program module. | See error number -4371. 2. After I initial database online, load data into database, run a program of report and compare the performance to Solaris machine. I try to make some performance tuning. After re-configure the parameter. and start up online again. I expericence the problem on creating database. the system complained: 23101 Unable to load locale categories.

There was a change from 4GL 5.xx to 6.xx and forward whereby cursor and statement names are now globally scoped. For the "C" version there is a commandline option to c4gl to restore the older behavior so older code can compile. I do not know how to do this in RDS, check out the manuals. -- Art S.
