I've just (this very morning!) managed to get a connection from the ILogin demo that comes with ESQL/C 7.2 for Win95 to the stores5 database on our OnLine 5.03 server (SCO Unix) running I-STAR (sqlexecd). I did this by searching c.d.i. on dejanews, working the rest out for myself, and applying a lot of blind guesswork. OK, we've only got a two month evaluation of I-STAR + ESQL/C - we were supplied with a pile of manuals for the Windoze stuff, but *nothing* for I-STAR. Two points: a) Thanks to all previous contributors whose knowledge I have used. b) BTW, what *is* the syntax for sqlexecd. I got it running just by typing sqlexecd on the command line (after getting /etc/services right), but I think I read somewhere that you can start it with options to write a log file. What is this option, and what other options can it take? Cheers, Richard.
