Hi :
I got some problem when I alters big tables like add or drop a column from
them and queries with SQL statements (Work with SMI ) such as:
select today,t1.tabname,sum(iswrites+isdeletes),sum(isrewrites)
from sysmaster@ol_nebula21:sysptprof t1,oltp@ol_nebula21:systables t2
where dbsname = "oltp" and t1.tabname=t2.tabname and tabid > 99 andtabtype = 'T'
group by t1.tabname
having sum(iswrites+isdeletes)>0
OR
select dbsname, tabname, count(*) num_of_extents, sum( pe_size )total_size
from systabnames, sysptnext
where partnum = pe_partnum
group by 1, 2
order by 3 desc, 4 desc;
While I enter these statement the online.log indicate like this and after
that the system is going down.
14:48:51 Checkpoint Completed: duration was 0 seconds.
14:49:07 Assert Failed: No Exception Handler
14:49:07 Informix Dynamic Server Version 7.31.UC5X2a
14:49:07 Who: Session(34, informix@nebula1, 27853, 872903496)
Thread(117, sqlexec, 3405800c, 7)
File: mtex.c Line: 446
14:49:07 Results: Exception Caught. Type: MT_EX_OS, Context: mem
14:49:07 Action: Please notify Informix Technical Support.
14:49:22 See Also: /DBA/af.45d91f2, shmem.45d91f2.0
But if I updata statistics on altered table and run the same SQL statement I
don't got any problem but the system work fine!
I don't know,Why ?
- Could somebody explain what is happen ?
- How can I skip this problem by don't run update statistics after I alters
the table and I wondering If somebody can explain me about how the IDS
works when we alter the table in deep concept.
By the way I am using informix IDS 7.31 UC5x2a on SUN
( I'm sorry about my english becasue I am not native english.)
Ake.
