This is a multi-part message in MIME format. --------------042584F101C489CF02BF4B05 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit iem-files are Informix Error Message files compiled with the mkmessage compiler. Some of these files are also delivered as source files, fx 4glusr.msg You can compile souch files with: mkmessage 4glusr.msg 4glusr.iem If an error message file is not placed in $INFORMIXDIR/msg, you can change where your application will look for message files by setting the DBLANG environment variable. This is described in your 4GL manuals in appendix B and D. The netsrv.iem contains error messages about network problems. So most if not all error codes of -25k has something to do with network. An easy way to look up an error code is to use the standard programm finderr. Simply type the command: finderr -25580 best regards claus Crisp, Kevin wrote: > I fixed this by copying the file to $INFORMIXDIR/msg. > > BUT, this was masking another problem which is that on Solaris 2.5.1, > if I > turn optimisation off (i.e. the c files produced indirectly by 4gl are > not > compiled with -O), the application failed to run.
