Roberto I have not heard of informix in AS400 because they have a pretty good database and is integrated to the hardware, so anybody is betting on another database The problem with than system is the programing languages, even though then have improve they are still 3th generation languages. You can improve your development cuality and time with a CASE, and there's a very good CASE call GENEXUS, in wich you make de development and prototipe in a PC and then you generate the code to RPG400 in the AS400 through Client/acces or PC support. One of the most importans thing is that if you want you can generate the aplication in Client/server mode, using the strong databse that the as400 has and mantainig the presentation (client) of the aplication in a PC in a graphical type of view.
