That is rather tame. : Try 2Gig or 4Gig or 8Gig. Been there. Oh, my, 8Gig. Pretty tame. Try 200Gig. (Not all the same app, but all available from the same Vax cluster.) Our biggest DB is 50Gb. I think that the natural trend towards storing more and more data is accellerating towards the absurd. I have one requirement on my desk to store shipping receipts for 10 years on line. I had to argue that the technology just wasn't up to it (over 100gb/yr of data) and we needed to store only "rolled up" information. I lost. I just can't wait for a year or two of data to accumulate and the query time increases, the performance decreases... *sigh* : -- : Robert Randall robertr@apertus.com : Proficient Solutions, Inc. 612-860-3762 / 612-379-2678 : Minneapolis, MN -- ============================================================= Chris Cebelenski cpc@shell.portal.com Science Fiction SIG Moderator Moderators SIG Moderator Portal Communications "It's the MOOG, man."
